yeah i am lucky!! my aunts house is going to be late 3 months... as of right now we are on schedule
all the wood is there already too!

 

My roommate just started his house a few weeks ago too. I remember when I was helping him shop around that some builders were quoting 18 months for completion of a house.

Luckily his girlfriends boss also does work for a home builder here and he was able to do a nice house for a reasonable price and in the normal 4-5 months.

Boy am I glad that we purchased when we did. We built starting in March 2004, and the process took 5 months from start to finish.

A recent market evaulation from a local realtor showed that our house has appreciated almost $100-120K since that time. Not that that means anything unless we're planning on moving to PEI or similar, but a good feeling nonetheless.
