Default Oxygen Sensor for AP1?

I was about to change the downstream oxygen sensor on my car (bought the sensor from Autozone in California - friend worked there & I was living down there ... ).....car sat all winter and it turns out that the Bosch unit will not fit!

Canadian Tire shipped in another one.....will not fit.

Went to Bowness Auto (sensor made by Bluestreak).....will not fit.

The OEM sensor on the cat (secondary or downstream one) does not have a "cap" on it and extends a very short distance into the cat since the liner inside the cat is a very short distance from the outside body of the cat. The replacement/OEM-type sensors will not fit!

Anyone know anything about this?

Honda's price is something like $350 .... Calif. was $68....Cdn. Tire about $102-107 (they are bringing in another one....suspect it will not fit) ... and Bowness Auto Parts was about $128.

Reijo: Do you live in Calgary? I could have sworn I read some threads or posts from you that mentioned you live in the USA. Maybe you moved back or maybe I just lost my mind haha..

Anyways, which Honda dealership are you going to? Have you tried talking to Jonathan at Honda West? He is the parts manager I think and can probably help you out.

Hi,....yes I lived in the Los Angeles basin (Seal Beach) for about 2 1/2 years....and started a new job in Calgary last September.....just in time for winter!

I found out what the problem was: The inside of my cat is loose and had shifted and apparently sheared off the end of the oxygen sensor......so the sensors do fit after all.....duh.... But now I need a new cat....don't know what happened that the innards are loose????
