Default Rear ended

Somebody bumped into my rear this morning As far as I can see, the damage is limited to the rear bumber and the foam inserts -- the tail lights weren't touched.

Anyone know the cost of a rear bumper? Or have one for sale cheap? My deductible is pretty high, so I might be better off to fix this myself if I can buy a bumper cheap enough.

You weren't in the car at the time?

Yeah -- I was in the car. I have the insurance info from the guy that hit me, so no problems there. But my insurance deductible is $1000, so I figured I might be able to replace the bumper for less money than that.

Never mind -- I talked to my insurance agent a bit more and they tell me that the other dude's insurance company will be billed for the deductible.

Sigh -- what a hassle.

You won't have to pay anything out of pocket (like you learned from your insurance company) so it's just a pain in the butt for you to get it fixed up.

The one nice thing is that you can likely drive the car while the bumper is ordered, then drop the car off for a short period while they replace the cover and blend any panels as needed.

If you like any aftermarket bumpers then use this as an opportunity to pick one up. Or AP2 if you prefer.`

You'd think he would've noticed a bright yellow car in front of him? Not like you exactly blend in...

that sucks!
but u shouldn't have to worry about paying a thing.. the person behind u that hit you should be at fault. So he should have to pay the deductible.
