Default Trailer hitch or trunk mount for bicycles

Anyone have a trailer hitch installed or have a trunk mount bicycle rack for their S?

If can haul my bicycle with no problems then I don't have to consider a different car soley for hauling stuff. Thanks.

I can't speak for the S2000 specifically, but I did race mountain bikes for many years, and I've tried just about every bike carrying system there is. My personal opinion on trunk mounted systems is that they are risky to the paint job on your car. If you don't have the rack mounted just right, they can move just enough to wear through the paint to bare metal in a very short time (like a car ride from Banff to Calgary). I would never put one on an S2000. Trailer hitch mount racks seem to shake around a lot and need some extra straps to keep them from moving and doing some damage to the bikes (straps to the trunk again which sucks). Roof racks are the way to go. The bikes and racks don't move at all. That's probably not much help for the S2000.

Honestly, an S2000 is a really bad car to try and move a bike with. And I raced out of the trunk of a 240SX (both cross country and downhill) for years, so I have experience using a small car to move bikes. Maybe an excuse to get a Toyota pickup or WRX? HEhhehe, that's where I am right now.

Chris.

I had that on the CRV and the bikes definitely moved around a lot. I had to use a lot of bungee cords. If I had an expensive bike I wouldn't have done it.
