Thanks for the warm welcome! I actually bought my Prelude at High River Honda, although I don't have any connections there. Where do the Calgary owners on this board get their S2000's serviced? I've read too many horror stories about damage to the cars i.e. dents in the fenders from leaning on them. Also, how much is the hard top in Canada? Thanks.
P.S. meeting in the spring sounds great.

I will likely be servicing my S2000 at home with the help of XViper who, BTW does all his own maintenance at home as well.
As for High River, my father actually works there. His name is Mohamed and if you call, tell him that I sent you from the forum. I'm sure he will try and swing you a comfy deal. I used to drive a 97 Prelude Type SH which I bought from High River as well. Great cars, but just don't have the "rubber neck" factor that the S2000 does. I'm not sure how much the hardtop costs as an accessory, since my Spa Yellow came with one. I'm guessing the price is somewhere between $4-5000 CAD.
Hope that helps.
Asif

My hardtop cost just a shade over $4000.00. I didn the install. The price was part of the purchase agreement. I was told the price was cost + 10%. $4100.00 total (GST included). As Asif said, I won't go to a dealer unless it's for warranty repair. Everything else I do at home, keeping all bills and records.

Thanks xviper. I actually found a dealer website that shows the hardtop option. High River Honda lists it for $5000. You mentioned you installed it yourself - doesn't it just "clip on"? I will be driving my S2000 all winter as you do - do you consider the hard-top a must have?

Asif, I haven't seen any Spa Yellow S2000's around (or even on any Calgary dealer websites); were you able to get yours because of your connection?

Yeah, I like the idea of having a second set of rims and tires for winter. It's a real pain switching over every spring and fall. I had a second set of tires, but not rims, for my 91 5.0 Mustang LX and the rims got hacked up from the constant re-mounting and re-balancing, not to mention trying to get in to a tire shop for change-over after a big dump of snow in the fall. An extra set of rims is well worth the money in my mind. I may forgo the hardtop option if I can get it a later date if need be.

What the heck is a block heater..???

The dealer can throw this baby in. Cost is like $50 ducketts.

I am gonna pipe in. I bought my s2k from BT Honda. I have a decent relationship with them, and I got the floor mats, the block heater, and what else? oh the windscreen included in the price of the car. BT Honda has a silver/red in stock as of 2 weeks ago. I am not sure if it is a 01 or not.

Park the darn thing.. don't drive it in the winter
