HG, 50K is way too much for me to spend on a car to leave it in the garage all winter. We don't get all that much snow in Calgary anyway (relatively). I will definitely have snow tires though. For the truly nasty days my wife can drive me to work in her CRV. As for the one in stock, I'm not too worried about it as I don't want delivery until May 1/02 anyway. I'm a tax accountant and do nothing but work during March and April anyway.

I know what you are saying. 50K is alot of money to have sitting 5-6 months of our winter. I guess being in Sask we do get the colder temps and generally more snow.

I am a car buff, from old cars, VW, etc, I am treating my S2000 somewhat of a collectors item. I plan to keep her for a long time. I do not want the salt and the horrible SK drivers to hit my pride and joy. Look at Louie, the poor guy already got hit. Not to blame the weather, and yes it can happen at any time. I think we are more susceptable with our winters to having damage done to our cars.

I guess I would rather buy a run about car than buy winter tires Go figure!!

Personally, I wish I could have one S2000 in the garage, and another one to drive daily they are so much fun.

Another issue (beef) I have.. hehe.. I was looking for a run about car the summer of 00 just after I bought my S2000. I took a trip to Calgary. I looked at every civic at every honda dealership. I am not BS'ing, but every civic had a chipped or sandblasted front end. I thought this was strange and finally asked what the heck is it with these cars. The one salesman said, that Calgary uses alot of salt and sand on the roads. I guess because of the number of vehicles and the fast moving pace of the freeways. I eventually bought a 96 tercel at High River Honda. Guess what? the front end was still sandblasted to hell. But it was an easy fix, unlike the civics, the front quarter panels were done in as well.

Thanks for listening!

Woodson,
As for the spa yellows, they were a limited edition here in Canada, with there being only 48 official units n the whole country. Through the help of High River, and some of the good folk on this forum, I was able to purchase the LAST avail. Spa Yellow in Canada. The car originated from Montreal, and I was able to take delivery of it on August 25th. To my knowledge, there is one other Spa Yellow Hard Top in Calgary besides mine.

Yes please xviper! My Prelude hood looks just like HG described - my only real complaint with driving in the winter. No accidents in 22 years of winter driving. (knock on wood) As for the salt, I'm not worried as I generally only keep a car for 4 years. xviper, do you have any pictures of that hoist?

Well ............. No! I've come up with several "inventions" since I've had this car and all have been posted on this forum for all to see and duplicate as they wish. I have no wish to market these things nor do I have any desire to profit from them. One of my inventions was actually tried in the marketplace by another board member some time ago without any objections from me but I seem to recall it didn't "fly". To me, it's a compliment in itself if others take the idea and gain some benefit for themselves. It has been my pleasure to give explicit details to others on how to construct their own copies of these "inventions".
