My snow tires have actually been on for the last 3 weeks. I suppose this year I was a bit over prepared. Hardtop is on as well so I'm good to go.

Haven't tried the Kumho's but I love my LM22's. Kal Tire was the best price for me on the LM22's when I bought them back in 03.

daym, winter driving in an S?!
You must be new around here. Many of us have been driving our S's for several winters on a daily basis.
In fact, some of us grew up with RWD cars and drove these all winter before people of this continent became numbed by FWD cars.
I've driven my Vettes and Mustangs as daily winter drivers. The S2000 is an even better winter car. It's not the car. It's the driving ability of the operator and the ability of the owner to know how to equip it.
Here's a thread where we play with our S2000s in the snow and ice:

Winter driving in a big city can be depressing and terribly dull. Driving an S2000 makes it that much more tolerable.

I am going with the Kumho KWs on Saturday, at least $100 less per tire than the Blizzak LM-22s. I think Contemporary Motorsports has better prices for them than anywhere around.
which KW's are you getting? i never checked with contemporary..... bought my KW 17's at mytire. let me know what they are charging at contemporary... thanks.

Made it home on the night it snowed. The S02s can handle slush alright. Compact snow was another story, good thing I didn't stop or getting started would have been a problem.

Your Blizzaks are worn? Didn't we get ours at the same time? Mine still have plenty of tread left.

I think that most of you guys are from out West, ie: Calgary, etc... With your chinooks and milder winter weather I would even consider driving the S out in Alberta... but in Winnipeg its a different story!

We who drive all winter don't sit and wait for chinooks to come or for "mild" weather. We use our cars when we need to use our cars.
I've driven in stuff like this:

and this:

and this:

Oh, and this was one of the "nicer" days:

BTW, there are S2000s being driven throughout the winter in both Winnipeg and Toronto.

My LM-22s rears were gone at the end of last winter. They lasted 2 winters I guess. My front LM-22s are like brand new though. So I am using kumho KWs for the rear.

The price I got from CMS for the Kumho KWs are $150 for 225/50/16. That price includes mounting and balance. That is $100 less than a Blizzak LM-22 in the same size.

Oh, I wouldn't brag too much yet.......the sun should be gone for you for the most part until March any time now!

Yup, you called it. For the past few days it's been overcast, and I suspect I won't see the sun or blue sky for another 3 months or so
Nothing like living in a valley

Oh, and after bragging about the nice weather yesterday, I noticed this morning that the mountains have snow on the top of them.

Shit, I forgot I talking to Prairie-folk.
