You'll need one. Even if the car will start without it, it's a lot easier on the car if the block is warmed up when it's 30 below.

Got your winter tires yet?

Yeah, with the 10W30 oil you'll find even at -20 the S2000 likes to be plugged in.

Congrats again. Get pics soon!

Mobil 1 10W30 is generally the best way to go, based on value/performance, and our climate. Some locals will go to 5W30 in the winter, because of the cooler temperatures, but I don't feel this is needed, as 10W30 Mobil 1 still pours at extremely cold temperatures (and plugging the car in at -25 to -30 is a good idea irregardless).

You want to go with 205/55/16 front, 225/50/16 rear, for winter. Check into the Dunlop WinterSport M3's... my brother just got those for his Mazda3 and they're incredible tires, I like them even better than my Toyo Garit HT's, which are already a pretty damn good winter tire.

The tire sizes are differ from front to back. For winter, I suggest the WS-50 Blizzaks...They work pretty well!

You don't rotate tires on the S2000. They're different sizes front and back, and directional.

In summer, if you don't go with the OEM S-02, make sure you buy a tire that is 245/45/16 for the rear, as our stock rear's are 225, but actually had a contact patch of 245 ish.

This car is confusing sometimes

edit - if you do want to "rotate" a tire, what you have to do is swap the fronts, and swap the rears (side to side). this means, unmount the tire from the rim, and then mount it on the other rim, so that it is still travelling the proper direction.
