Best Front Range Service Dept. ?
So.... my S2K is occasionally popping out of 2nd (thread here ).
I call Fisher, where I bought it ~6 weeks ago and the service guy returns my call.
me:"I having this problem w/ my S2K. Sometimes when I'm accelerating hard, it'll pop out of 2nd gear. It's happened about five time in 1500 miles."
Service guy: "Yeah, you should go ahead and bring it in."
me: "It's pretty intermittent..."
Service guy: "That's OK. It'll give us more time to play around in your car!"
Now I may be overreacting, but this is not what I expect to hear. I know this problem is gonna be a bit of a pain to diagnose, but I want to take it somewhere where someone is actually going to try to FIND the problem instead of looking at it as a great joyriding opportunity.
So sound off, who should I take the work to? I like to drive, so I'll travel as far S. as Co Springs, or as N. as Cheyenne. Frontier is closest to me, so if you had experience w/ them, let me know.
FWIW, it might be worth "stickying" this or a similar thread for new S2K owners in the area as they become part of the collective.
TIA,

Just take the service manager in the car and show him that it comes out of gear. Any time you have an intermittent problem it's difficult for the service guys to troubleshoot.
I now take my car to Ralph Shomp and Rob L is the guy that works on it. Haven't had any problems with him.

Rob L is the man at Ralph Schomp. He is the only one that touches my S2000.
When you schedule service just ask for him. Just be sure you get him. I have had it switched by the scheduler but fortunately Rob saw me drive it in and he took it.

Frontier seems OK. I've had my S2K in 2 times: 3750 mile oil change and that went well (except that the tech didn't reset the Maint Req'rd light so now it's blinking at 6000 miles). A different guy did the spark plug TSB which was also OK but he put in the oil dipstick backwards (not serious, but somewhat disconcerting). My **impression** is that they don't have a lot of S2K experience but otherwise are professional.
My advice is to talk to the svc. manager. I did call the one at Frontier and he was very helpful. I think these guys set the tone in the svc. area so for now I'll stick with Frontier.

My experience with Honda Dealers in this area includes purchases of an Accord and Civic from Empire, a CRV from Fisher and my S2000 from Schomp.
There is no contest in terms of pricing, service, or courtesy. Schomp wins hands down.
My S2000 has had all service from Rob, who also owns an S2000, and I can only offer the highest compliments on his service and skill. He is great! Their entire department is professional and efficient, but with great people skills.
Bob
PS I have also used Honda Acura service on South Broadway (about the 600 block) and find them quite good and well priced, but would never take the S2K there as long as Rob's at Schomp.
