God damn thiefs. Why in the hell would you leave the motor in? Unless you are just taking enough of the car so it gets totalled. Buy the car at auction and reassemble it and drive it.

 

cars are marked with a salvage title, to get rebuilt status you have to come up with reciepts. this is like the 2nd black s2k to come up at klode like that?

 

Yeah but that doesnt stop people from driving them with salvage titles. I know a few people that have S titles on otherwise decent cars.

 

in colorado you cant register a salvage titled vehicle unless you get get the title converted to rebuilt, thus a "safety light" and vin inspection. also insurnace=?

it would be possible to get a 140mph ticket, so bad if the title - registration - plate not match.

 

Insurance is impossible to get with an S title. Even rebuilt or otherwise. Most companies wont touch them. I had an RSX in here the other day that had an S title. It was stolen wrecked, and rebuilt by a body shop. It should have never made it back onto the road, it was FUBAR underneath. Scary.

 

so salvage cars in colorado are worthless? it's scary that S2K's are getting stolen in colorado... damn thieves

 

Not completely, but to the average person who is unaware and gets suckered into buying one, they are. Yeah it sucks that you cant keep your car in your drievway or go to the movies without worrying.
