Any way to fix this?
A few months ago my insurance company got a body shop to replace my old hit & run bumpers (heavily scratched on the sides, and no dents) and then repaint the whole car.
Recently I notice what looks like a dent in the left side of the rear bumper, but its hard to tell in certain lighting conditions. it's really noticeable to me now that I found it. the whole left side just doesn't look as even as the right side; it's like they sanded down one side and didn't bother with the other.
It looks like the shop either used an old bumper and tried to fix it up, or somehow messed up a new one and then tried to cover up the damage.
the surface and paint still feels as smooth as the rest of the bumper when you glide your hand across it though, so I don't think it's from any recent hits.
I had to pay a $500 deductible not to mention they got payed by the insurance company, so I expected better quality.

Most bodyshops have some sort of work guarantee. If you arent happy with it, go back.
If they give you grief, go to your insurance. It's their job to make sure you're whole and they have expectations held over the bodyshop.

the bumpers all come in black from Honda and have to be painted, so perhaps they didn't get a perfect paint job on it, it's hard to see any defects from the pics posted. Silver can be tricky to match particularly when it has metal flake in it, I just posted on this subject for the painting of my hardtop. But like listed above, have them complete the work to your satisfaction, it's your right.
i work in a body shop and do alot of work on the side. you can call the insurance company because if they sent you to one of there approved shops they stand behind the work. to me it looks like its a damaged bumper. from honda they come in a big box for the s2000 so it most likely isnt a damaged new bumper but it does happen, unlike if it was a civic bumper that comes in like a plastic bag. the second thing is there could have been a big run in the clear coat and when the sanded it out, it left a wave effect. hope this info can help you out with what ever u decide
