Default Clear Coat on wheels not curing as planned

I am redoing a set of Works.

Im on the final and most difficult stage called waiting for the wheels to compeletly cure. I applied about 5 coats of clear. Last one being exactly one weak ago at this time.

The proble is that they dont seem to be cured. I can touch and all without leaving any marks. However if you slightly put your fingernail and push it will make a small indent. The temp has been from 25 - 48 degrees which is not all too cold. Ive even tried baking them for a bit but seems to only make it softer?

I know Ive given it enough time. How can I make it hard already? (not in that sense...perverts)

How are those temps not too cold? Seems like it is way to cold. Will probably have to strip and repaint them.

Is that Fahrenheit? Waaaaay cold, bro. try 70 next time.

Anyway, sounds like you (painter) didn't add any reducer to the clearcoat/hardner mix. He should've added 10%. Now try wiping the surface with paint hardener a few times a day, under decent room temperature, it should help dry the paint. Make sure TEST FIRST in an inconspicuous area.

You shouldn't ever put five coats of clear on at once. Do 2-3 and let it cure, scuff it and then apply more. The solvent from the first coat isn't going to be able to evaporate through four other coats. Spray at min of 65 degrees.

So when you say scuff what grit of sand paper are you talking about? And how many coats inbetween the scuffing?
