Default Sanding before and after clear coat?

Hey guys ive been doing some painting in the garage and got a little dust on the paint. Can i do some sanding or wet sanding before i clear-coat? What grit should i use to sand it, and what grit would you recommend for after spraying the clear coat? Thanks in advance.

It all depends on how you want the job to look and come out, But for the most part I learned and say no, its just really hard to get dust out of the base color without changing the finish after its all done, the base is not buff-able like clear coats so trying to sand and then buff out the marks before clear is nearly impossible.

the base is the money shot, if you get dust in it sand it and try again.

But yes you can sand after and should wet sand and buff the clear.

Wet sand using warm water and hand pump soap ( dial ) the paint until the dirt is smoothed or sanded out. Then apply a coat of paint to the car again and clear as normal.

o and use 1000-1500 grit paper to wet sand...same or higher than that when wet sanding clear.
