Default corrosion issues

I run a 2003 car in silverstone grey its the GT model with hard top.I have an issues with the fact that its rusting like a Merc does over the wheel arches and I keep painting that zinc jelly stuff on which hammerite produce and it seems to get worse. I wonder if getting it filled and resprayed works or does the rust still come back?

The only way to get rid of the rust completely is to cut off the area that is rusting and weld on new and fresh steel. Sadly

If you're seeing the paint bubbling up, it's rusting from the inside out. That could be caused by poorly sealed hems (unlikely), plugged weep holes or bad repairs from previous work.

Since there is no such thing as a GT model, I suspect that you may be a troll. I have a daily driven 2003 without a spot of rust.

There is a GT model in the UK, and from that vintage. Just go look in the for UK forum and you'll see the terminology everywhere. S2000 GT was also a limited edition model in the UK produced to commemorate the end of S2000 production in 2009. Not trying to be disagreeable, just making a minor correction.

To the OP, was your S previously repaired?

Both my rear arches were rusting, they tend to bubble. It was rusting from the inner, the only way to get rid is to cut it out as previously mentioned. I bought a rear half of a front damaged car and had the quarter panels removed and put on to one of mine and you wouldn't know they weren't original. You will need a good bodyshop but it was well worth it, when you have got the new ones on waxoyl the cavity.

Also rusting is a common issue in the UK.
