Thumbs up Cost for painting a new color?

Hi, so there's a Spa yellow S2k that is a really good deal, with one owner and only 66k miles on a 2001 car.

The only problem is, while I don't dislike Spa Yellow at all, I plan to mod the car later on and think I'd prefer it to be white by then. So I was thinking that since this car seems pretty well priced and one of the only AP1 models with low miles, I can just get it first and have it repainted later.

Anyway that's how I ended up here. I was wondering though, how much would it cost to have the entire car repainted to white? I know people are going to start saying that you get what you pay for and it depends on the quality I want, so let's say I want it to look like it just came out of the factory in GPW or some other nice shade of white. The white used on the new Subarus seem to be really nice..

How much would that turn out to be? I live in the So Cal area if that's needed, and an estimate would be great.

Thanks!

That 6-8 thousand is reasonable if they are doing the engine bay and all visible interior parts.

I was quoted 4000 to repaint the external body panels a similar color to the rest of the car.

About 5 to 6 hundred a panel, plus labor from my experience.

Hmm alright thanks everyone!

If it's that much maybe I ought to just get the one that's already painted white unless yellow starts to grow on me..

If you're going to drop $4k+ on repainting your car, do it a unique color. Do something like Lambo orange or that Corvette ZR1 blue. Sorry, I don't know the names of the paints.

My brother had a 2G turbo eclipse that was painted Harley Davidson Tangerine Pearl. That was the most badass orange I have ever seen.

This is crazy, my body shop would do an exterior job on a s2000 for 1k AT THE MOST, we use very nice MIPA paint and is always oem quality. I dont know where you guys are getting your quotes at but there pathetic... It's a car the size of a del sol lol i would guess 12hrs labor max for an exterior refinish.
