Default debadging emblem discovered no clear coat

So i decided to finally debadge my s2k emblem. The right side came out awsome! no signs on stans or paint chips. Looked like it was nothing there before. The right side however looked like there was never any clear coat underneath. It was just very clean silverstone paint. And now i see a clear coat surrounding the paint. I could tell there is no clear coat because of the layer. Does anybody know how to fix this? Do i have to wetsand the whole fender and spray a clear coat on it? If not ima order another set of s2k badges -_- after 45 mins of trying to take the stupid stuff off...

wtf..never heard of this before. Maybe try buffing it first and see if it shines it up. If that doesnt work, hopefully someone else can chime in and give a suggestion b/c im not really sure why it would be like that.

tried to wetsand it down. used 2000 grit, got the layers off but the color is still off. There was this one big thick layer so i tried using 1200, and i just sanded down to the primer............. Now ima look for another used silver stone fender since it would prob be cheaper than painting it again. Or go Spoon Wide! naw too much money haha.

This makes no sense. Honda puts the emblems on after painting and clearcoating the car. My guess is that you mistook the junk left behind by the glue for missing clearcoat. I removed my emblems years ago and thought the same thing you did about the clearcoat - until I hit the area with swirl mark remover and found that it was just residue.

Thats why I said try to buff it first instead of sanding it.

nope, i bought the car used, most likely the car has been resprayed with clear coat and the guy is too lazy to remove the emblem. I could tell because i see light sprays off silverstone paint on the emblem also. Sorry i didn't mention it.
