Sorry if this is a stupid question. If you decide on using 3M double-sided tape, aren't there 2 bolts(the outer ones) that are pre-installed on the spoiler itself, do these come off?
I can't really tell from these pics or the install guide.

Thanks in advance. I'll be looking to pick up this spoiler as well for my S sometime this winter and I'd also prefer not to drill and just 3M tape it.
I just put an aftermarket on and posted pictures in another thread titled "Ebay OEM Rear Spoiler" but to answer your question there are
nuts one on each side embedded into the spoiler and after you drill the marked holes that are under your trunk lid you attach spoiler with bolts....I did not want to drill the holes so I just used the 3m tape that is on the spoiler and added some extra tape to certain areas, it looks great, color was perfect match and was only $98.00 with free shipping.....got it in 8 days....
Did you change the spring?

Well you have a nice son, it is best to install in temps up over 70, it was 79 today here bring it on down and we'll slap that one on...

Ok, sorry to revive such an old thread, but I just scored an OEM trunk lip spoiler for my '04 SSM. I want to install it right, but don't have the mounting hardware. Can I get the mounting hardware anywhere or can I just get some hardware from Home Depot/Lowes? Also, if I choose to install with just the 3M double sided tape, can I install it in 55-60 degree temps?? Perhaps heating up the tape first? I assume the suggestion above to install above 70 degrees is just intended for the 3m tape install. Any further pointers???

I love the AP! with front OEM lip and rear OEM spoiler combo. How was their paint quality. I'm leaning towards the ebay one unless a yellow one pops up for sale.

I put mine on with 3M tape. I wouldn't do it ordinarily but I had it installed on a very similar spoiler on my E90 3 Series for 4 years through rain, snow and 90 degree days so it is not a problem.

This works too but I just couldn't get myself to drill anything as I didn't trust myself to do it perfectly. We have the same car (ap2, color and spoiler) and yours looks gorgeous!

For those of you who used the double sided tape from the OEM.thing spoilers, did you apply the adhesive stuff to both the trunk and the spoiler or just one of them before putting the double sided tape on

If I remember correctly I put the tape on the spoiler 1st.
