Default Please help me identify this mystery bolt

I got in my 2008 S2K yesterday, and this bolt was sitting on the passenger seat. It's black and .75 inches long, and the head is .25 inches wide. I've looked around, but can't find where it might have come from. The obvious explanation would be the convertible top, but I don't see any spaces with a bolt missing. Anyone out recognize this thing or have suggestions as to where it came from?

It looks like the bolt for the top striker plate. There is one plate (2 screws each) on each side above the windshield. Its the "socket" that the top latch pins fit into before you operate the hook to draw the top closed. But those bolts are normally covered by the A pillar trim plastics.

You were very close--it turned out to be one of the bolts that fastens the latch assembly to the top. Thank you so much for leading me to the right area--I don't think I would have ever looked that carefully at the latch assembly without your suggestion.

Cheers,
Dan
