Rattle Can OEM Wing
Ok so I got the new top on and decided that I could no longer accept the spoiler looking faded and horrid. I planned on taking it to Auto Techniques and letting them spray it for me. But I figured hey, why not give a rattle can a shot since I'm going to bring it in anyway if it messes up. Plus, I can't look much worse than it already does.
(For those wondering, I bought the EZ-on brand stayfast material soft top. Fits like a drum and looks great. I have lots more pics of the top if you want)
Disclaimer: This was done in only about two hours in my garage. There is a bit of trash in the clear from doing this in an open atmosphere. This is, by no means, intended to be shop quality. It is only to make it look a lot better than it used to.
Sanded down with 400 grit sand paper until the entire surface was smooth, even, and had no gloss. Painted with flat black paint and automotive clear bought from Home Depot. I will post pics with it on the car in a few hours. I want to make sure the clear and paint cure fully before remounting.
Here's the best "before" pic I have.

Great job with the project. What I like to do most of the times, is wetsanding it a week/2 later in case there is any orange peel in the finish but yours looks perfect. Don't think you will need that.

I thought about that but I wanted this to be a sub $20 job. That's the goal I was trying to reach because I could easily get it painted at the shop here for $75. Plus with the multi stage paints it allowed me to control just how much clear I wanted on it. Surprisingly, there really isn't a lot of orange peel at all. It looks great on the car. Pics to follow this afternoon after work.
