Default Repaint Berlina Black

After three years of track days (about 20) and twice monthly canyon carving, my BB paint job is starting to look pretty shabby... lots of dings etc. If I do a complete repaint I would want to do it in a metallic black or at the very least in a formulation more durable and less prone to swirls than Honda's paint formula. BB is beautiful, but only for the first hour or so it seems. Any recommendations? Are there auto paint manufacturers that are better than others? And if I do repaint, how soon after can I have a clear bra (3M?) installed? Thanks for any and all input.

It doesn't have any thing to do wit Honda paint. It's just black, and one of the hardest colors to keep looking fresh, If you plan on keeping a back car you should also plan on buying a nice buffer and some black 3m polish. It's the cruse of having a black car.

I have a PC buffer. What's black 3M polish? I have a bigger problem with nicks and chips than with swirl marks.

How much more can I expect to pay for a quality repaint in a different color? Assuming most of the engine bay and trunk remains black?

Depends how much prep work costs, that's generally the biggest factor in a paint job price.

There's no magical number. You could spend anywhere from $500 to $8000 rather easily. All depends on the dozen and dozens of factors involved.

Black FTL =(

SO hard to keep nice.

This is what i'm talking about, http://multimedia.3m.com/mws/mediawebserve...s6EVs6E666666--

As for the chips, it's sounding like the front of you car is peppered with them, has it every been repainted?
