Default Repair clear coat

A patch of clear coat has come off the plastic rear bumper on my S2000. Are there any videos available on how to repair this?

I have only had that issue when I tried to take out a small scratch with rubbing compound and dulled the finish a little. It will usually polish back up with some good waxes and so forth. I thought most clear coats were mixed into the paint these days.

I don't want to post any one video because I don't know which is the best one, but if you search in Youtube "fixing clear coat with rattle cans" you will get about a dozen good videos.

Did you take it to any body shops? A whole bumper cover respray is about $400, no?

If you want a cheap solution, you can DIY... wet sand entire bumper with 1500 grit, and then respray a 2k clear coat out of a spray can. The spraymax ones are pretty good, you will probably need 2 cans for an entire rear bumper. with a spray bomb job you are going to get a fair amount of orange peel. after it cures, wet sand with 2000 and then 3000, then polish with megs 105 using a DA.

If you care about having a really good finish, take it to a body shop and have them respray it.
