Awakening an old thread here. I've noticed a weakness in S2k convertible method. It at least seems to me that the metal supporting bar of the top at the behind can put pressure and slide causing potential tears. I've put silicon to the initial hole but I don't think its going to last much longer. Question
1. I'm considering would it make sense to put some material to protect between the metal bar and the soft top? So that the bar can slide better on the roof without putting pressure to the top?
2. Has anyone had success on for example sewing a beginning crack in soft top, then putting silicon, then even a patch on top of it. Could that work?
