Default Rough Paint

Heh guys,
I've recently just got my car back from the bodyshop where they replaced my front fender and painted it as well. I never noticed when i got it back, but some pieces on my car feel really rough like sandpaper. The front fender they replaced was smooth, but things like my driver's side window is rough, exhuast tips on top are rough as well as the bottom portion of my rear bumper. What is it and how to I get it out?

Thanks in advance,
Mike

Most likely to be overspray. Just clay the ruff areas and it should easily come off.

Thanks, clayed everything yesterday, but no help. On a side note, do sealants work better on lighter colored cars with pearl in it than waxes do?

I have the same issue with moms mercedes. Fender is rough after it was rapainted. I clayed, compounded and polished. Still feels like poop and no where near as shiny as the rest of the car.

Did I mention bad orange peel as well??

God taking any car to body shop means shit getting ruined. I haven't had 100% experience at any body shops. They manage to over spray shit left and right. Like my rims for example.

It's time to get my rear bumper fixed since i was rear ended at the red light. I am afraid for my rims, top and just in general the whole car. I still haven't gone and git it done and its been 3 months. Too scared.

With a metallic, I'd lean towards a wax, even on white. If durability is a concern, go sealant. Or, you can do both; top your sealant with a nice wax.

I admit, though, that most people will lean towards sealants on white, regardless of metallic or not. slanguage, I'm guessing, will recommend Werkstat Acrylic Jett Trigger, which is an excellent product, and looks great on white.

Sounds like it needs to be wetsanded. That usually needs to be done for best results with a repaint.

I had some overspray on my windshield and pass side window when I had some body work done last year. When I brought the car back, the guy there sprayed some window cleaner on the windshield and sprayed some on OOO grade steel wool and used that very lightly to get rid of the overspray. It worked great and didn't leave any damage to the glass. I do know that he clayed my fender to get rid of that overspray. He did NOT use the windex/steel wool method for painted body just glass.

Yeah Werkstat AJT is awesome. I just tried Blackfire Wet Diamond on a red s2k earlier this month and it looked really good

You could top the AJT with collinite 845. Then you will have great durability and a nice shine.
