Wrapping Wheels Help
Anyone ever wrap their wheels?
I tried to wrap an AP2 wheel with matte black. Having trouble getting the wrap to stretch down to cover fully between the spokes without tearing. Is this an impossible stretch distance? Or is there some secret technique I am missing? I tried with and without a heat gun with similar results.
I'd like to use wrap (or if this turns out to be impossible, Plastidip) as both are easy to remove (vs paint or powder coating). I think wrap would look nicer than Plastidip, especially up close.
I posted in body and paint instead of wheels and tires because I thought there would be more experienced wrappers here.

I haven't wrapped anything but that does seem really difficult to do being small spaces and lots of different curves and what not. Also I would think the wrap wouldn't hold up very well to the heat from the brakes. I used plastidip on my oem wheels and they looked ok. Held up fine as well.
When I heat the wrap, it will stretch enough to get it down part way between the spokes. Then when I heat it again to get deeper, the heat causes the wrap to shrink back to its previous position. If I heat it any more, it punctures. So I'm not sure if our wheels are just too deep for this to be done successfully or if there is some top secret technique that I am missing. Or maybe some wraps can stretch more than others?
