Another suspension question for track guys....
I have searched and apologize if this has been covered before. I would like to purchase coilovers for my car and i admit, the primary reason is to lower the car for looks. However, i have done a fair bit of track days in the past and plan to visit the track a few times a year with frequent mountain passes hence i would like to get a coilover that can actually perform rather than making my car handle worse.
I have done many reading on this site and many would suggest the BC N+, Apexi EXV, or Megan street/Race coilovers for my application. But i have also read that these coilovers would actually make the car perform worse than the stock suspension as they are not really built to perform. Can anyone that track their cars on a regular basis comment on the performance of these budget coilovers? If the performance of these budget coilovers does even compare to the stock suspension, what would be a good entry level coilover? I have read that the KW V3s and HKS hipermax are actually performers at a relatively bargain price. Keep in mind i do not want to spend a fortune on coilovers but i do want to buy something that would better the handling of the car.
Thanks.

I think you are on the right track with the KW3's and HKS. I would also add the Challenge + coilovers to the list affordable good performing coilovers that I have talked to guys using at trackdays.
I'm going to continue tracking my car with the stock suspension this year and plan to add the Challenge + coilovers this fall

I have zero experience with MEGAN coilovers but I do know of one person who has them and is FAST on the track with his car/setup.
If looks is the main thing, I dont think the lower level coilovers are a bad thing....its not like youre trying to break track records.
At the end of the day, if you start to track more and feel your coilovers are not performing, upgrade then.
I havent heard of any failures so I cant comment on that.

I don't know about the others, but from what I've read...the people who track their Megan Tracks love them.
