Default Brake Upgrade suggestions

Hey guys, just had a quick question. I am going to need to do a brake replacement soon so I figured I may as well go ahead and upgrade the rotors, pads, fluid, as well as the lines. But since this is my first S2000 I am still getting familiar with brands and sites that may be reccomended. That being said, what brake options are reccomended for mild track use, but mostly just weekend driving? TIA for the help

For street you really cant beat OEM for performance and value but they will not work on the track, or will work but will die after one track day. Ideally you want separate pads/rotors for street and track. There are some that can work for both but they will have compromises, like dust or wear, or not hold up on track like a true dedicated track pads.

If your mild track use does not include serious track tires, then stock brakes might work fine for you, with just track specific pads.

The deal is, if your track use results in serious brake fade (too much heat that can't be dissipated before the next turn), or cracked rotors, then you need a brake upgrade. If these things don't happen, your stock brakes are fine.

It really depends on how good your tires are, and how much you can push those tires limits.

Do you have a set budget? A Big Brake Kit would certainly be a big step up from stock. We have the Stoptech ST-40 BBK available for $1,721.25.

We also have brake packages available that offer Stoptech rotors and pads for your oem calipers. These are more affordable and are a good way to increase braking performance without breaking the bank.

If you want even more performance oriented pads you could go with something from Hawk or EBC. You end up with more dust and noise though. Feel free to shoot me a pm too if you want help putting together a package.

I recently did Challenge SS lines, Stoptech slotted rotors, and Project Mu HC+800 pads. I'm really enjoying that combination so far. The only downside is how much the pads dust that's all.

Stoptech SP pads. Decent fluid...something like Castrol GTLMA or ATE would be inexpensive and effective.

Rotors...pfft. Regular rotors work just fine. Pick a brand.
