Default Calipers to use with PMU Rotors

Hi all,

i currently have Project Mu ScrPro rotors installed on my car with OEM calipers. I would really like to upgrade my brakes as i mainly use the car for trackdays and feel thay i need more braking power. My question is I love the rotors and they are like new, but i can´t find calipers that can fit there, mainly because of the thickness of the rotors. (except for spoon calipers and PMU calipers of course).
Does anyone have an idea of some "budget" caliper that can fit these rotors even if i need to make a bracket to fit them in the s2k? Or someone using this rotors with a non oem/Spoon/PMU caliper?

Thanks in advance for any help

When I hear budget BBK, I think of Wilwood. Did a quick search: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-br...otors-1096573/

As you said, Spoon will work also, since they’re made for stock size rotors. I don’t think PMU calipers would work since all of their calipers are made for larger and thicker rotors, but I could be wrong.

HOWEVER, if you’re willing to make custom brackets, then that opens up pretty much any caliper option as long as you can fit them under your wheels. Calipers aren’t vehicle specific—the brackets and rotor hat (offset) are. When searching for calipers, just be careful of OEM caliper options (like OEM Brembos), because they usually come with an integrated bracket, which may make it harder for you to customize to fit.

Thanks for your answer. My question is if a caliper that fits an OEM rotor will fit the PMU rotors I have installed as i think they are different thickness?

Your PMU rotors are OEM replacement rotors right? they're made to fit OEM calipers, so by that reasoning, any caliper that fits the OEM rotor should fit the PMU rotor. If the PMU rotor ends up being too thick, shave down your pad or get pads with less material.

makes sense! thank you!
I was also wondering if the calipers can be used if i upgrade the rotors to larger ones (like 330mm). Are calipers restricted to one size rotor?

no you can't use OEM or Spoon calipers with 300mm discs unless you create a custom bracket to space out the caliper.

Calipers are restricted to a range of rotor sizes. For example, my AP Racing caliper fits a range of 315 to 330mm discs.
