Coilover Install jack rear only
Looking to install 2 new coilovers on rear.
Only own 2 jackstands. with front 2 wheels chocked and rear on jackstands with wheels underneath in front of jackstands. Garage is a level smooth surface. 3 ton jack stands. Is this a bad idea?
4 jackstands not an option.

For the rears you will not need to be under the car, so sounds safe as long as you have the car up and stable. I'd also place the floor jack under the diff jack point with slight pressure for an added level of safety.

Use chocks and use the pinch welds/jack points to place the stands as well. Using the rear round frame rails raises the risk the car rolls forward and actually slides off the stands (I believe it was a member here that was under the car when this happened) since those are smoother and end abruptly, wereas the pinch welds will probably reduce the odds of this. And as mentioned, since you are not needing to be under the middle of the car, leaving the jack under the diff jack point is a good idea as stated above. I always do this if it is not in my way. You will not need to be under the car, but always good to use as much safety as you can when a car is lifted. If it fell on your leg or foot, it may not kill you but it would not be good

Yeah, its fine how you're planning on doing it.
But this whole thing sounds like a riddle that begs for more deeper thought based on the statement that 4 jackstands not an option.
Because you live in a remote area where there are no stores? Usually, in areas that remote, there are dangerous bears. Are there bears? Do these bears generally frown upon unsafe practice, and thus are caught in an ironic existential crisis because they insist on safety while they themselves pose a threat?
I have so many questions based on that one statement regarding why 4 jackstands is not an option....in a world FILLED with options...
