Very similar AP Racing CP9665 caliper being used on the Civic Type-R TCR. A similarly designed 6-piston caliper made for even larger rotors.

How does this compare with the SakeBomb AP kit? Since it uses the same upgraded 325 disc, it seems like like performance-wise it would be pretty similar but it costs $1000 less. Caliper is a bit less fancy I suppose but the CP8350 is no slouch in terms of real world performance and this RadiCal still a 4 piston. Not to mention the fantastic selection of cheap pads. I suppose I'm trying to convince myself that the Radi-Cal Bling is worthwhile XD, but the logical side of me is winning... Do the pad shapes come in to play here?

The CP8350 is a great caliper but the Radical is on another level. Noticable stiffness improvement that you will feel in the modulation of the brakes. Also the calipers are designed for air flow through to gets extra cooling on the caliper itself.
The pad shapes are different but the surface area is about the same, nothing that will have a noticeable effect.
They are both 4 piston, there is simply no need or benefit with a six piston on car this size. Just adds weight.
I hope this answers your questions.

I asked on facebook a few weeks back on both Urge and Essex's page, they said it was shelved until a new caliper was designed. I still hope someone can offer a kit with the CP9440-2 caliper, other than it being the stiffest caliper available to consumers, it's considerably thinner than the Stoptech ST40 (67.50 mm vs 80.36 mm center to outer face based on schematics i can find) which means it should have excellent wheel fitment if you can get a decent hat and bracket.

V8 roadsters is also currently offering a kit with a custom STR-43 caliper that may have even better wheel fitment as detailed in Ricky's thread https://www.s2ki.com/forums/automoti.../#post24433364

Here’s a quick visual comparison with them to the trophy kit. Unfortunately I forgot to take a picture comparing the widths of the two calipers. I'm using a 330mm x 28mm rotor

In recent discussion with Essex, there currently isn't a RadiCal caliper that can fit wider/larger AP racing rotors and 17" S2000 wheels.
The above is a radical caliper that is thin around a Girdodisc rotor of OEM thickness. Although this rotor does shed more heat that OEM as it is directional, it doesn't come close to our AP racing rotors we have on our current kit which doesn't have a radical caliper that can fit it.
We are pressing Essex to relook at the caliper/rotor combos, fit 17" wheels and work with S2000 offsets.
