Default Koni Yellow Washers

I am in the process of installing koni shocks and something just doesn't make sense. I got a full set of Koni yellows and the washers do not fit over the stem. I do know per DIY write-ups on here that you are supposed to drill out the washers/bushings to go from the stock suspension over to the Koni shock.

However, even the washers provided by Koni do not fit over the stem so in any setup scenario, those washers do not fit without modification. It also appears that the washers provided by Koni are direct replacements for what would move over to the new shock but it just blows my mind that Koni would provide washers that have no chance of fitting. What's up with that and have any of you also experienced this?

While literally trillions of humans have installed Koni Yellows...you may not be finding info on your issue because:
-Nobody else has had this issue.
-It is not an issue; you're just not understanding the directions.
-Your particular set has been incorrectly packaged.

A photograph of your issue would help.

None of the washers except the plastic "caps" are supposed to go past the bumpstop...stopper...thing (technical term).

Sure guys. Thanks. I was honestly wondering if someone would say "yeah thats how they are" and that would be that.

I uploaded some images here and i put captions under each picture for what I am talking about: http://imgur.com/a/CW3Re

Also, I am referencing this DIY: https://www.s2ki.com/forums/s2000-un...lation-303417/ which says to drill out 8 rose bushings and 4 dust covers. Picture of that here:

What am I ****ing up here?

I'm starting to realize what I may have misunderstood. Is it supposed to go:

hi hat
dowel
washer
-WELD ON SHAFT-
bumpstop
plastic cap
Shock

That would make sense as to what I misunderstood here.

^correct. No washers go past the welded on bumpstop stopper.

No problem! The setup wouldn't have worked properly if you drilled them. I assumed the issue was some misunderstanding as to how far the washers go. Koni's instructions are..."excellent".

Also, I edited my post. Which dowel are you referring to?

I might have been calling it by an incorrect name. The cylinder that slips over the top before the hihat goes on.

There shouldn't be one of those in a S2000 application. That's strange. Does it fit inside the bushing?

The stock tophat (hihat) does not have this dowel. The bushings are metal reinforced.

Or is this some sort of spacer?
