Unhappy Lowering the ride need tips

Alright I drive an '08 S2K. Laguna blue.
I have the choice of going either skunk2 or neuspeed or espelir springs
I'm not upgrading my shocks anytime soon. I looking for a good drop and springs that won't blow my OEM shocks out.

I heard some really bad things from neuspeed. Supposedly they get bouncy after a while.

I haven't heard anything bad from espelir springs or skunk2 springs except some s2k owners have blown their OEM shocks.

I will not be tracking the car and I'm not really worried about speedbumps and what not. I want something thats best for my car but be low also.

I hear you're also suppose to get an alignment after lowering the car. What all else do I need to know? Also I read from other forums that if you do a 2 inch drop then you need a camber kit to get everything set correctly.

Thanks for reading and the advice.

yes you will need an alignment, how much of a drop do you want? i think anything past 1.5 will need new shocks imo. i dunno about springs so thats all on my part

after you pass the manufactures recommended settings is when you are going to mess up the ride. i dont think you will need anything else, spacers are not needed but will be more flush with the car

From your choices I would go for Espelir. You may wanna look into Eibach too, good drop and rides like stock. I use to run the Eibach springs before switching to coilovers.
I would recommend doing an alignment and if you do look into the euro spec, its a bit more aggressive. By doing so you'll save a lot of tires too. The alignment place should be able to adjust your camber, toe etc.. without buying a camber kit. You can adjust the settings (camber, toe) on the S, but only to a certain point only. My car is drop about 2" and I was able to mock the euro spec without a problem. GL

I had Espelirs and YES you will blow a shock. I have gone back to stock springs. Why does everyone seem to miss the sticky at the top of the Suspension forum:
SUSPENSION AND LOWERING...SHOULD I???

QUOTE:
Springs are the lowest cost suspension mod you can do, and can significantly alter the look and handling of your S2k. If what you’re looking for is to have your car sit lower to the ground for the “bling” effect, springs are the most cost-effective way to do it. There’s a trade-off here. The stock suspension was engineered specifically for the stock spring height. When you put in shorter springs, you mess up the geometric design of the system. Frankly, the car will not handle as well. (No matter what self professed “experts” might say.) Lowering springs alone are for looks only. Not only will they not improve the handling of your S2000, but they will actually diminish it.

You will not need a camber kit the s has more than enough adjustment. I would recommended diff spacers when you lower the s you will start to reduce the life off axles. I would suggest full coilovers you lo be much happier than on springs.

^^ I think two post up pretty much answered this thread... The stock Shock is matched/engineered to the stock spring. Whenever you change the ride height, you've now changed the geometry of the entire set-up. Lowering springs are for looks only.

Now, if you still decide to go this route. Eibach or Espelir would be the only two I'd recommed. Due to spring rate, ride height, etc. Go to The "official Springs" thread and compare the two's rate/drop and decide for yourself which will suite your driving style/preferance best.

IMHO, Buddy Club N+ Coilovers. Do it right the first time!
