should you prime your coilovers/ struts before install
i got h&r coilovers should i compress the strut rod all the way down a few times before installation. i knew a couple people that would do this on shocks before they installed them? Others call it primeing

No need to. Just slap them on and go for a ride. A couple seconds on the street will relieve any trapped air to the top.
Same deal on motorcycle forks. Once you fill with fluid and stroke the rebound rod a few times (to purge air from cartridges), it's good to go.
Don't forget it's a sealed unit, so you're not purging anything.
