Yeah, the DS2500s are not designed to be a track pad, but a high performance street pad. They can be okay on a track that's not brake intensive, but a a dedicated track pad is a better idea.

Its about normal for an OEM pad. I went through a set or rear pads (starting at probably 75% life) in two track days down to the squeal bar.

I got a set of hp blues for the track and I went through 1/4-1/3 of a pad in 2 track days.

don't worry about ducts when you track it once a year or so..

just gonna scoop up crap and fling it against your rotors for a year.
never use brake ducts on the street.

unless your hard parking at wendys. then your cool enough
