Upper front and rear ball joints impossible to find
#11
I've just received a full set of the ROCA RC-BJ0022 upper ball joints. I got them off the bay through global shipping program.
Here are the dimensions if anyone is trying to find an alternative upper ball joint which fits and would work. (There must be a cheaper Blueprint ball joint which fits?)
Front / Rear Upper Ball Joints
Length 76.5mm
Head dia. 45mm
Body dia. 36.6mm
Rear Lower Ball Joint (blueprint part)
Length 87.2mm
Head dia. 46..8mm
Body dia. 42.2mm

Breaking the taper on the upper ball joints with a hammer is the stupidest technique on this car. It's too easy to nick the boot on the ball joint. And one wrong wack and you can pop the ball joint out of its bore on the control arm.
I got a used arm to replace my worn ball joint(thought it was worn because of a split boot). It came from a low mileage car and was in good shape save the ball joint boot. Put it in the car and test drive it, ball joint pops out of its bore. Had to get the joint weled to the arm and get a new alignment.
