weak spring
What could cause springs to become weak only after a year? I have espelir on stock shocks that I install 1 year and a few months. I was force off road by a lunatic woman who don't know how to properly make a left turn on the highway. I hit the dirt going 75mph and my front bumber hit a animal fence(fences that prevents animals from crossing highway) I took my s2k in to a shop at the next exit, my car now sits lower on one side. The mechanic told me that my shocks were blown and my springs are weak now, causing the sagging on one side? How can 1year old springs be weak??? I've seen vids that shows s2ks spining out at 80+ on the track and I havn't heard/read about there springs losing tension or becoming weak???
Anyways no the mechanic is probably wrong. Its sagging because the shocks are blown. The shock is pressurized which is like an internal spring rate, so if the shock is completely blown the side that is blown will sit lower on the car. I doubt the spring rate decreased in less than a year. Even the shittiest springs wouldn't normally do that. Although they do sag pretty quick its not really noticeable until taken off the car.
The easy way to test your theory that the shock is blown, is to bounce that corner. If it returns to static quickly, then it's doubtfull that the shock is the issue.
Also, I think your outlook on crappy springs is a little generous. I find it very easy, and proven, that bad springs can get worse very quickly.
