Default who has the best deal on Carbotech pads?

My Turbo AP2 is in need of brakes. The rotors are worn horribly and the pads are near gone.

I've used Carbotech pads on my turbo Miata in years past with excellent results. I'd like the same performance from my S2000.

So, I'm thinking XP-8's all the way around. I'm OK with the noise and dust, as long as they perform well on a 400+ HP turbo car. Most of my driving is high speed roads 55MPH speed limit and up. So, the high speed performance is what matters to me. I don't autocross, but may wander on to the track if I feel like flogging my car. I'm a 90% driver on the track, never full race speed on my daily driver, I can't risk it. But don't take that to mean I'm easy on things, I'm not, I just brake a touch early to avoid crashing, otherwise it's all out accel and braking. Friends describe me as "relentless" behind the wheel

counterspace garage.
xp10 front and xp8 on the rear are popular choices

I agree with the suggestion of counterspace garage.

But I disagree with pad stagger, run square pads and maintain the constant pad bias.

I bent my front backplates after 2 days at the track with a set of xp9s. No functional problem but you might want to look into Cobalt pads...I havent seen them do this.

I don't know what XP9's are. Don't see them on the website anymore.

Anyway, thanks for the heads up.

as far as my knowledge goes, it's xp8, 10, 12, 20, 24, rp2

I was just joking about the xp9s unless that's a super old school pad.

whatever you do just get a set of matched pads front and rear. As I said in a previous post, given the carbotech xp10 line, there will be an equivalent in almost every brand from Porterfield, ferrodo, project mu, endless, raybestos, hawk, winmax, cobalt. The amount of compounds each brand will have is staggering. some people find a pad and once they are happy with it they stick with it. It's really hard to find someone who has tried every single permutation of pad compound that can give reliable unbiased input.

Ask Mike aka psychoazn of Counter Space - he has tried a dizzying amount of brake pad combinations on track.

xp9s are an older model, but it happens on the xp8s and xp10s too. You really have to push the pads to their limits, but it's doable at most HPDEs where heavy braking is necessary:

Others

Not saying dont buy them, as mine still functioned completely fine, but others have had the pad bend to the point where cracking occurred.

Seems $357-$360 shipped is the going rate on xp10/xp8 combo. Any s2ki discount code or anywhere cheaper?
