I clear coated mine today. Put about 4 very heavy coats of crystal clear enamel (rustolium). Prepped with Windex. It removed some of the silver. I think it might be sharpie marker.

Just be careful when degeasing/prepping for clear coat. I was able to go back over the silver areas with a fine silver sharpie. Then I sprayed a very light coated of clear to seal the colors, before applying the heavy coats of clear.

That was the first to show up. I was more cautious once I saw the silver wipe off.

Ugh I need to stop being lazy and install mine!
They look really good. I mocked mine up in my car and really liked them. They are clean and subtle, but also draw your eye in towards them.
