Default 04+ tweeter Grills

I was at my local auto installer yesterday and he was saying that for mounting the tweeters from my compenent set i can just go to honda and order the 04+ tweeter grills and get them cut into my 01 door panels. Just wondering if anyone has done this and if there were any real changes in the design of the 04+ door panels that makes this idea not feasible.

I'm not sure about the '04' model tweeter pods, but I can tell you this. I have Carbon Fiber upper door panels and I had to cut in my '02' tweeter pods and I did it with a fair a amount of ease.

I'm just trying to remember if the '04' cut in as easy... I would think so but for some reason I think they are a little harder to fit properly...

I installed my Alpine tweeters a few weeks ago in my '00 S2000, no problem.
I think the '04 tweeters are a bit bigger so they will have to fit high in the door.
Mine are just behind the door handle.

I don't think there are any changes made to the layout of the door (inside or out).
So installing them won't be a problem.

If your just going to cut them in you should be fine. I did the research and if your trying to retro the 04 into a 02 it doesn't work but you should be able to install those fresh with no problem.

If you have someone in your local club with an '04' I would ask if you can make templete from their door panels, that way you'll place them in the exact right spot.
