Default 06+ AP2 speaker recommendations?

I picked up this head unit the other day...

What speakers should I go with? I'm not adding any subs or anything to the car, I have to keep the car light but with a $1000 budget what should I replace the factory speakers with?

Is that $1000 with or without the head unit? If it's without, then be prepared because you have a lot of options for components and an amp.

I picked the Excelon series KDC 998 for $239.99 on Amazon. How do you like your HU? Did you get the DCI?

I use Infinity Reference Components for my fronts and i think they sound pretty damn good. Can be had for around $100.

Polk DB components are great speakers. They handle 100 watt rms and have an all around full sound. Find yourself an amp to match it and they will sound great. I currently have a pair but without and amp and are ten times better than stock. Putting an amp on it would greatly improve the sound quality and how loud you can get it. Also with the headunit you bought, you have great sound control. It has a 7 ban equalizer which will help you tweak it to your own taste!
