12w7????
JL 12W7 Dimensions: (from the website)
Mounting Depth: 9.5 in. (241 mm)
Overall Depth: 11.25 in. (286 mm)
Magnet Diameter: 7.5 in. (191 mm)
Pole Vent Clearance: 0.75 in. (19 mm)
Displacement: 0.14 cu. ft. (3.03 ltrs)
Recommended Sealed Volume: 1.375 cu. ft. (38.94 ltrs.)
Problably won't work flush with the floor. I'm assuming you want the front of the speaker flush with the floor, not just the enclosure?
For the box to be flush, you need 9.5 + .75 = 10.25" (mounting depth + pole vent clearance) depth in your box. Of course, the bottom of the tool well is tapered toward the middle, so the lowest you can go is where it is still 7.5" across to allow for the magnet to fit.
If you want to go stealth, you need even more space. 11.25 + .75 = 12" depth to the front of the speaker, which may or may not include room for max excursion, to keep the surround from rubbing against the stealth cover when it moves. The same limitation with the tapered bottom exists here, of course.
Another issue is the 1.5 cu. ft. volume the box would need before placing the driver in it. I'm not sure if there's enough room for that either. Fiberglass construction would probably be necessary, wood wastes too much space. Even so, I think lucid's boxes only give about 1.1 cu. ft. and they use up pretty much everything available.
Just my 2

I talked to a guy at a local shop and he thought it could be done... But I'm still not sure that Why I posted here..
I think that if you made a custum fiberglass enclosure that fit the entire well then you should have enough room and cu. ft. to still mount it so I can put a peice of lexan in?
But I dont know...
I still confused as to what to do...
What about the Sony Head unit (Multicolor picture one)
What is the opinion on that model??
