Default 1DIN CD/MD players?

Does anyone have any recommendations for a head unit that will play both CD and MD? So far I've found the Sanyo CDF-MS11, and the JDM Honda head unit (equivalent to the Gathers CX525M, which is no longer offered on the Access website?)..

Basically, I want something like this..

I assume you have a lot of MD's then?

MD never really took off mostly because digital players came out... They are far and few between now. You can find used ones on Ebay sometimes though...

Yes, I'm an MD fan. What would be awesome is a 1DIN CD/MD player that can also handle mp3 format on the CDs. Seems like neither of the two options I've found so far do it though.

Yeah well you'll be hard pressed to find a MD player from a good company now. Everything has gone digital... look like you should trade that MD player for a Ipod

To the original poster:

CD/MD 1-DIN with MP3 capability is exactly the present JDM S2000 OEM unit (the one you pictured), the only issue would be that radio bandwidths are not the same in Japan and elsewhere. If you don't mind that radio wouldn't work, then try importing a recent JDM unit. I sold mine when i bought my new S2000 to an Italian S2000 owner who apparently was in the same case as yours (instead i installed a Sony CD head unit capable of ATRAC3+ playback).

To the others:

What do you mean, "everything has gone digital" ? You think MD is analog ??? MD as a digital media was launched way before CD-R. ATRAC, MD's codec not only predates MP3, it offers the same playback quality as MP3 at twice the compression in its present ATRAC3+ form (and that can also be used to burn CDs and DVDs).

What we are saying, n$a, is that basically, MD is a dead format. It never took off outside of Asia. There have been no MD decks sold in the Americas for many years.
