I wonder if it's possible to replace the crystal to match the Mhz?

You just had to go and ruin the dream for me. Ohh well, I sort of figured it was too good to be true. I've been wanting one of these since I saw a friend with a BMW have one.
someone had to ruin your dream sooner or later, if it wasnt him it woulda been me. i been following these kinds of topics for a while coz i want one of these keys. i even went to some people that cut automotive keys and asked them to do it for me, they said that it wouldnt work.

here's a thought, replace the key AND the reciever in the car. while your at it, figure out a way to rig the windows to open up on command of the key. just like the accord.

The key can be cut and the immobilizer can be programmed... unfortunately the keyless entry controls will not function. The accord and all newer vehicles in the U.S. function @ 315 MHz. The s2000 fob functions @ 433 MHz...
Actually the fob for MY03 transmits at 307.9000MHz. I still don't think it will work though. I looked in an old TSB that covers the remote transmitters.
From another thread:
If you really want to know the frequencies look at the back of the remote for the FCC ID. Use this number and check it against the FCC's online database. The FCC has the frequencies on file.

EDIT: I did remote for an 03, heres what I got:
Applicant Name=Omron Corporation
Address=Industrial Sensors Division Shiokoji Horikawa, Shimogyo-ku
City=Kyoto
State=N/A
Country=Japan
Zip Code=600-8530
FCC ID=E4EG8DJ (This is the number you search)
Application Purpose=Original Equipment
Grant Date=12/13/1996
Lower Frequency in MHz=307.9
Upper Frequency in MHz=307.9

Heres a link

once youv'e searched click on the icon that say's "view form" for even more detailed info.

My FCCID is exactly the same on an 06 remote.

The seller of the Accord key posted the FCC ID, OUCG8D-380H-A. It shows up as
Lower Frequency In MHz: 313.8
Upper Frequency In MHz: 313.9

Ohh well, I get to keep my weight reduction if I ever need to remove the remote.
