2003 S2000 Audio System -- Need Evalution and Suggestions
I have a 2003 S2000 on order and it should arrive around Oct/Nov time frame, therefore I'm trying to get my audio situation squared away. I was hoping some people here could give me some tips and suggestions on what I'm proposing for my system.
System (A)
Head Unit: Kenwood KDC-MPV7019 (Ordered)
Component Speakers: Polk EX3560
Subwoofer (1): Polk GNX10 (10")
Amp (1): Alpine MRP-F320 40Wx4 + 120Wx1
System (B)
Head Unit: Kenwood KDC-MPV7019 (Ordered)
Component Speakers: Infinity Perfect 6.1
Subwoofer (1): Infinity Kappa 100.3dvc 10" 4-ohm Dual Voice Coil
Amp (1): Alpine MRP-F320 40Wx4 + 120Wx1
System B would cost between 150-200 dollars more depending on which places I ordered from. My questions are:
1. I'm not an expert on audio systems, therefore my amp choice might not work correctly, does it? Am I choosing an amp that is way to high or to low for my system? Any suggestions.
2. Any comments or suggestions on these setups, pro /cons, etc.
3. My budget is about 600-700 dollars (The head unit is not included in this equation). Are there any avenues for improvement or cost savings with different components that may be better or more beneficial for the s2000?
4. Suggestions on crossover mounting locations.
5. Should I replace the speaker wires in the doors with new ones?
About myself: I'm looking for an audio system that sounds clear, with little or no distortion. I'm not looking for an ear shattering, heavy bass system. I just want something that will sound really smooth and clean when the top is down and I'm driving at highway speeds.
Thanks in advance for any and all suggestions, criticisms, etc.

My 2p would be to avoid the Infiniti components unless you have auditioned them and like their sound. In my experience Infiniti speakers tend to be rather bright. Have you considered Boston Accoustics components or Focal? I run both in my setup and feel the Bostons in particular have a lovely, warm sound.
