I bought Polk component speakers and a pioneer head-unit for my 2003 a year back. I installed the woofers only and kept the stock tweeters in place and ran that setup for a while and there was a ton of bass and the system sounded great! However, I recently opened up the door panels and installed the Polk crossovers and Polk tweeters. I followed these instructions of the exact same Polk system as I have (https://www.instructables.com/AP1-Ho...r-Replacement/) and am 99% sure I wired up everything correctly but I am getting ZERO bass. I've already tried the simple things like reversing the polarity of the speakers from the crossover to see if that would fix it and got the same result. I also tried the '6DB' setting in the crossover instead of '0DB' and that did nothing.
I tapped into the harness going into the OEM woofer for the Polk crossover. Was I supposed to tap into the input wires a little further back before they split to the woofer/tweeter for the correct input? Any help/guidance is appreciated. Thank you!
Picture of wiring on the crossover below. The wiring is all going to the correct places (e.g., tweeter to tweeter, woofer to woofer, input to input).
I am about to install the same Polk DB6502 component speakers on my 2004 S2000. Were you able to resolve your problem with the bass? If so, can you share your solution?
