Speaker installation instructions?
I'm just starting to upgrade the stereo, and I went out and bought a pair of 6 1/2" Infinities, which will be installed in the door.
I did a search and couldn't find any line by line instructions for doing this. I usually break something when I do this myself, so a little help would be great.
Hopefully I got the right speakers before I do all this

Here are a couple of good guides I came across 'back in the day'
Colin Sato's instructions
Mcgyvers instructions
Helms manual details from HandA
HTH and good luck with the install

Do you have any suggestions for any other upgrading?
I'm hesitant on adding anything more since this will be parked outside and people can just steal any major upgrades I do. I figure the speakers is a no brainer.

You can have a pretty big install and still keep the stock look - that was my main aim in my setup for security and low visibility when putting stuff in the trunk etc.
As you say the easiest, biggest first (stealth) upgrade is new door speakers, rear speakers (like what Lucid offers) are pretty invisible too and make a heck of a difference in ease of listening especially with the top down. After that you could be looking at adding offboard amps and/or a new headunit. It really depends what you want out of the system and where you feel the stock install is weak.

I thought about a new head unit. My conclusion was that since the door would be closed most of the time, a remote control wouldn't work since it would block the sensor. I am starting to get used to the side controls too.
I couldn't find any documentation for rear speakers, that will probably be my next thing to do.
Thanks a bunch!

Few things to know before you do it:
* Is the speaker a true 6.5" - if so it will need our adapter
* Do you have your door speaker harnesses
* If the speaker do fit the door baskets but are too deep do you have the tools to cut the back off

I saw that about the harness. I guess too I was making the assumption that I could cut the wires and directly sauder the wires to the speaker, like I have before.
If I ordered rear speakers and a harness, how fast could it be shipped (taking the holiday into consideration)
I'm going to my parent's this weekend and I was hoping to install it there.
