Are 3 small woofers really better than big one?
Just wanted to share a work in progress
I'm a JL Audio nut as you can tell, this is my second custom box using JL woofers
Enjoy

Mathematically the triple 6" cone drivers move more air than the single 10" driver but the question is will it be louder?
Why 6"? Because I like to try different things. Plus I've already done the 10w6 in my last 2005 Rio.
Cost wise it's a lot cheaper to do a single 10w6 ($300) vs three 6w3 ($150 each).
this was my old setup:

I think woofer sizes and numbers dictate whether you're after SQ (sound quality) or SP (sound pressure). From my understanding SQ is how smooth sounds are delivered and SP is how loud the sound can be delivered.
On other note you do amazing work!

Amp and loudspeaker math is weird. I'll admit I don't understand it all. But if you're using the same power amp for the 3x6" setup as you did for the 1x10" driver, wouldn't it be essentially the same loudness? Just with less distortion? (Which is a good thing - I'm much more of a fan of tight, controlled bass than what I call "flubby" bass.)
FWIW, the 3x6" setup has the same surface area, btw, as a single 10.4" setup.
