$300-$400?
Just for reference, I have BA Pro 6.5's and had 75w going to each of them when I had a JL 300/4 powering the fronts and a single sub. They sounded good. With the system redone, I have 150w to the fronts(each) via a 300/2, and they sound much better.
This is my personal experience.
I just picked up the amp and sub from my buddies place. Its a power acoustik g420-2 420w max. The sub speaker is rockford fosgate 10" 200 watts 1.5 voice coil 8 ohms. Anyone know anything about these? Also it looks like the amp is a 2 channel and i need power to the sub, what would you guys recommend?
Sorry if i sound cheap but dont really have the money right now to go all out. (i wish i did)

Anyway that amp will work fine for your new JL's. They should sound nice... and loud

As for the sub do you have the part number or a picture of it?
there are infinite many amps that will work with his sub. the 8ohm is merely a resistance value. It does not limit you to any amp out there, unless the amp is not 8ohm stable, which I find hard to find in today's amp.
Say he wants 200w for his sub. He'll have to get an amp that puts out 400w at 4ohm to receive 200w. When the resistance is increased, the power is decreased. Most of the time, power is not too important as the box itself. If you have a bigger box, generally less power is required to reach maximum output.

how bad? depends what you compare it to. lol.
to someone who has nothing before, its better than well...nothing.
If this is your best option, then i would say its not bad. compared to having nothing.
overall, doesn't look too bad.

Also, you cannot make up for power by "just" increasing the box size.
It's already a challenge to get good bass in this car, why make it any more difficult?

be honest.
