OK so i know you guys always like new ideas and mods, I know a few guys have put 5.25 back there but you have to cut the plastic almost in half just to get them in and i didnt think they looked to clean soooo.... i installed a pair of 4x6 kicker speakers and it sounds great 100% better they over power my front speakers which are clarion eny way just thought id share a pic or two

 

How does it sound behind the seats?

 

Pretty good actully i mean you feel like a little behind your back but i kinda like it the sound comes out easy from both sides and sounds like i should have from the factory

 

I want to take out my soft top and put speakers in the plastic deck where the soft top sits.

 

^I thought of that. The soft top doesnt really sit on it that hard, so if you wanted you could get a flat shielding and put speakers in it even WITh the soft top on...the prob si the plastic piece is super thin...probably would vibrate like crazy unless you reinforced it with MDF or something

 

and would sound crappy with the top down it would block all sound quality.

I like the 5.25 better because they have grills. so its a cleaner install imo but the seat will cover it up.

 

hmmm.....i kinda like this. i would personally mount them from the other side to clean it up a bit but i like this alot.
