Karl O.- That phone number would be great! That's quite a good mark down on the Eclipse!
I have definitely toyed with the idea of just getting a changer and putting it under the seat or in the trunk. I'm just spoiled from my CL-S. That in-dash CD player is just so convenient! If I can't find an Eclipse or another suitable in-dash changer, then I'll pursue the other changer options.
I totally understand where you are coming from on the MB-75. I don't blame you for never wanting to buy another one of their products. I think I would be the same way!
Thanks for your help!

I fit an Alpine 6-disc changer in the stock stereo location...

@shaner
Interesting Stereo-Install!
Do you have a wider picture of your complete dashboard?
Did you mount the headunit yourself?
How did you attach the headunit and how is visibility from the driver's seat?

At the time, this was a fun little project... which was the main reason I bought the S2000 in the 1st place (to take apart and play with). If I had to do it again, I wouldn't have gone with the screen and just used a single-DIN chassis head unit and kept the dash mostly stock... except for the Dynaudio mid/tweeter install in the dash, that I would do again. Nothing beats vocals coming from in front of you for imaging and top-down clarity... Anyway, here's the rest:

Since I made the mount out of fiberglass, I could have angled it more for driver viewing but for some reason didn't. With the screen angled (a few screen angle button pushes) and I can get it out of the sun. I also have a piece of anti-glare PC monitor screen I can attach to make it more visible. For the most part, I don't even pull out the monitor and use the remote or dash controls. I even uninstalled the navigation/GPS system because I never used it... so, like I said before, I wouldn't do the screen install again. I just am not into the whole tv/monitor thing and prefer to pay attention to the driving and road. Sure, my music is load and clear but my attention and eyes are on the road... I don't even use the cell phone when driving. I guess turning 30 turned me into a boring person

shaner,
That is quite the set up you have there! How long did it take for you to install? I like how you put the changer in the place of the stock HU. Did you have to make any extra modifications to fit it in there? I would be interested in knowing how you did that!

TepEvan,
Thanks for the info on the 3 disc Changer. I can't find that model on Alpine's web site. I saw it advertised on the Meyer-Emco web site so I guess they are still selling...
Thanks for your help!

Yea, the model I have is 5 years old and it doesn't look like there is a new model that Alpine makes. I know there are newer ones than the 7886s though, if you can find someplace that still carries new ones for cheaper.

Sorry for the delay j-star- try (478) 477-9095 and ask for Bill or Billy. Just tell them a guy named Karl from a Honda internet board gave you their number. I used to work there and both of those guys know who I am.

If they have one, and if you can reach an agreed price, there may be a problem with them shipping Eclipse out of state. If so, they can just write up the receipt to your name at my law office address so they're not selling out of their territory, and they just ship it out of the store directly to you- they can use my office as a return address or whatever for the paperwork if necessary.
