That price is normal for that level of install especially with the add-ons.
Do you have a firm understanding of how a relay works, and how do wire one to make it do what you want? If you have no idea what I meant by that statement: step away from the viper system. This is not an install for you.

I've wire a couple alarms before, my first time was frustrating, but once I got it working it was really satisfying. After that you realize how easy it is. Just take your time, triple check connections and you're good to go.
I'll give you the honest no BS answer. There really is nothing easy about this installation. The work itself isn't hard if you have any idea how to solder, but getting all the wires connected to the correct counterpart on the car sucks.
The instructions included in the Viper kit are non existent, and the stuff available online is less than stellar. I did a 5704 install on my wife's car, and I will never be doing it ever again. I had a wiring diagram of the car, the 5704 components, and relays. It took 2 full days to get everything connected, soldered, and checked out to make sure it was working correctly. Not to mention I have no warranty because the installation wasn't done by a certified Viper facility.
It was awesome when it was done and working, but my recommendation is to pay someone to do the installation. It just isn't worth the frustration and time. Plus if anything doesn't work you take it back to them and make them fix it.
